Affectionately referred to as our very own Payroll Dude, Scott does a little bit of everything at Horizon, but is laser focused on helping our clients improve their HR processes. He pretty much has his phone attached to his ears as he goes from one thing to another, and does all that while juggling his many tasks. In the payroll business for over 20 years, Scott knows his stuff.

Scott and his wife Julie have been married 27 years, and they have two sons. He has been a long-time member of the Centerville Noon Optimist Club and enjoys giving back to the community.  Driven to have an impact both at and away from work, Scott doesn’t stop until he knows he has helped in a real way. Regularly hyped up on Mountain Dew and Reese’s Cups, Stephanie thrives as the champion ring leader of our team. Her job is to make sure that all aspects of the payroll process are handled accurately and efficiently. With an accounting degree and tenure as operations manager since 2007, Stephanie is an expert in our products and services and works with each client to ensure their onboarding is simple and seamless. She loves the challenge of turning each new day’s craziness into payroll gold. She has seen it all but makes each customer’s unique challenges a priority.

Outside of work, she dons a superhero cape to keep up with her kids’ schedules while fueling her passion for running. She and her husband Joe enjoy the great outdoors and many family adventures together. From the outside looking in, Stephanie is quite funny and some say a bit cuckoo, but her closest friends know her as loyal and determined. She’s whip-smart, too.

Mark has been with Horizon since 2005 and in the payroll business for a long time before that when he had his own payroll company. He originally studied marine biology so he could work with sharks, but decided ultimately to swim with the big fish in business and finance at the University of Alabama. His days at work are full. Between meeting new potential customers and making sure the ones he has are happy, Mark manages to keep his head above water. He is a keen listener and is focused on being sure clients benefit from Horizon’s solutions.

Away from work, he values time with his wife Susan and family. If he’s not playing tennis, he may be thinking of the freedom and independence of sailing between Caribbean Islands. Between work and play, Mark is always active. He is a bit of a teaser, but puts peoples’ feelings above all else. We like that.

Taxes are complicated and ever-changing. With Horizon since 2015, Becky makes taxes understandable and makes sure each customer is compliant.

Her days can be crazy, but Becky will always go above and beyond to do what’s best for our clients, even helping them figure out problems from before they were our clients. Making taxes easier for our clients makes Becky very loved and appreciated. Who knew her biology degree would be used to dissect the tax code?

She’s loved and appreciated at home, too. Married to her crazy husband Jeff for 13 years, they have two kids, a tomboy diva, and a sweet-hearted monster. She is a leader in scouts and at the bowling alley, and begrudgingly in the laundry room, too. All we know is that she is hard-working and cares a lot! Amazing!

A ray of sunshine and the first, Sarah’s friendly voice is the first you hear when you call Horizon. Since 2018 she’s maintained her positive, happy attitude while making sure everyone’s payroll is properly packaged, sealed, and delivered. Her bubbly, out-going, and compassionate personality makes her the perfect person for this job.  She thrives in the office while grooving out and jamming to music as she is making sure everyone gets paid.  Sarah’s degree in communication is the perfect background for her current role. 

Outside of work, Sarah has been happily married since 2018. She and her husband, Thaddeus, recently welcomed a baby girl, Loxley, into their lives. Even though some of her on-the-go adventuring time is replaced by baby-snuggling now, Sarah still loves hiking, biking, rock climbing, or if you’re lucky, singing at the top of her lungs during car karaoke  In addition to all of her adventures, her cinema studies minor allows her to really appreciate a good film.  Her passion and energy are felt by all around her in both her personal and professional life.

A man with many jobs, David knows how to keep busy around the office.  When not servicing the IT equipment, keeping the internet and network going, acting as the interface between the processors and software vendors, and assisting clients in using and accessing Horizon’s web applications, you can find him helping around the office and even assessing any plumbing and electrical jobs that may arise. Phew! What does this man not do? We’re lucky he’s been with us since 2000.

When not acting as the office handyman and technician, David enjoys photography (check out these headshots), woodworking, hiking and bicycling. Loyal maybe even to a fault, he thrives in and out of work when he’s making a difference. For our customers and for Horizon, he really does.

Brad takes pride in being a trusted partner and advisor to our varied client base.

Away from Horizon, Brad is busy with family, coaching, church or rolling up his sleeves at home (aka yard work).  Beyond that, Brad loves skiing and rooting on the Cubs while dreaming of when he has time to drive the tractor on the family farm.  There just never seem to be enough hours in the day! Becca is a machine. She knows how nice it is to get paid, so she makes sure that all our clients and their staff get paid accurately and in a timely manner. She races against the clock to clean her desk, but occasionally time wins and she stays late to make sure everything gets done right for her customers.

It makes sense then that outside of work, Becca likes to throw parties.  She is always the hostess, whether she’s onboarding a new customer or entertaining at home. She lives for Fridays so she can spend time with her hubby Sean and 2 kids, Hayden and Hadley at their sporting events. As a part-time Operations Assistant, Sandi is involved in many areas of the business, contributing, and learning new things.
